Back to school is such a bore
I think I’m beginning to snore
I think I’ve gained some weight
From having fun and staying up late
Although school is not as fun
As playing games and lying in the sun
I think I should get used to this
‘Cause it’s 80 more days ’til I get more bliss
Even though it hasn’t even been 3 weeks I can tell that this is nothing close to being like fourth grade there are more teachers, more stuff to learn, more students, we get blogs and student email! Now that was the light side this is the dark side.
It has no connection to fifth grade at all more to the whole school it happens every year to every one, the back to school blues. During summer you got to eat when ever you wanted sleep when ever you wanted do jumping jacks when ever you wanted! Now there is a certain time and place for every thing. I can’t handle it! I don’t know how you’re doing but I can’t get over the blues…
Bye bye and I’ll see you when I get over it!
Sincerely
Hannah
Oh Han,
I know all about those Back-to-School Blues. In fact, they seem to creep up around week 3 when the newness has worn off and you realize there are endless days of this routine. But turn that frown upside down girl. Here are 3 reasons to be feel Red, Yellow, and Orange:
Red- You are on fire as a writer. This post is from the heart and paints a vivid picture of your feelings.
Yellow- Bananas. Don’t you get to be a little bananas now that you are in 5th grade? (Especially with your Mom as part of that show?) I always remember looking at the 5th graders and thinking… wow! They are having so much fun!
Orange- It’s a year-long sunset baby. This is the last year of Elementary School for you. No more baby stuff. Enjoy the view.
I promise, it might not feel like it, but this year is going to fly by and you will wonder where it all went.
We love you.

Awesome poem Hannah! I feel the same way about school starting!
great sentiments all around there young ladies. It is always hard when you have to go back to the grind of every day life. I try to do whatever I have to as soon as I can so that I can then enjoy the rest of the day. School should be fun and I must tell you that when you get to my age you look back and realise they were some of the best and most fun days of your life,
When you have finished one lot of holidays always remember if you work hard at school and home then you have another holiday to look forward to. A new country to explore or an old one to revisit.
Lots of love girls,
Nanna Gay xx
