I wrote half of this poem in class and finished it at home. Then I read it to my dad and he said to log on to his computer and start typing this up so I hope you like this poem just as much as he did.

The meaning of life

Meaning of life

nobody knows

why were we invented?

what were we made for?

for slaves, to be rich, to be poor?

was the meaning of life just for us to spend it?

or to save it?

to have it wasted by being imprisoned?

to have it spent right

to have fun

to get to live your dream

or is it just something that you’d rather have

then being just nothing?

who made life? No one was there to invent it

Why are we walking on earth?

Well instead of wasting time asking these silly questions

shouldn’t we be living life while we have it?

James and the Giant Peach (cake)

You may be wondering about the title and that a classic book is a cake. The answer is, I made a James and the Giant Peach cake. I know you are still wondering about it so I’m going to tell you the whole story.
My mum and I always go to the lit fest on M on the Bund. Every year it holds the lit fest its a place where authors come and visit to tell people about their books and their lives, kind of like visiting authors, and every year they hold the books to eat competition. That’s where people can make some kind of edible thing that relates to a book. I did a James and the giant peach cake it had lots of candy and frosting it was really yummy.
The day before the competition was really busy my dad said that he wouldn’t be any part of it but he helped a little too. There was green frosting for grass and we used a measuring cup to shape the peach and we covered it with peach candy and peach frosting. For James I made him on a scotch finger I did the same to some of the insects.

When we were got to M on the Bund I signed in my cake then went to see two great authors then had brunch. It was magnificent. Unfortunately I had to leave early to see another author. My mum saved me some pavlova (very yummy). After that we all voted on the cakes. They were so yummy I didn’t think that it would win anything but mine won best kids runner up!

yeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! It’s one day before my birthday! I can’t believe that I’m almost turning 10 the big one zero my dad likes to call it. For school I’m going to surprise everyone in my fourth grade class with cupcakes!! My mom is already making delicious vanilla cupcakes with a thick butter cream icing. Which are too yummy to stand it! And to top it all off were adding pink and white sprinkles because of Valentines Day.  The big question is the presents. I’m so exited to see them, so neatly packaged with bows and ribbons and balloons floating around!!! I’ve been daydreaming about it all day! But that’s not all!!  Tomorrow (my birthday) it’s music class so I get to wear the “birthday hat” which is a big fat hat with a design like a big cake with candles on it you get to wear when its your birthday like mine!! But you can’t have a birthday with out a big party so….. One party is going to be with my fourth grade friends at an ice rink then eat lunch. At five pm, my friends around the neighborhood are going to campout in my living room with Treasa, Lara, Sophia and me. Are going to watch Back To The Future!! A great movie about time travel. But sadly my fantastic birthday has to end. Till next year……….

The Very Interesting walk

Here is my writing that I published in class. Its based on a true story that happened to my friends and I.

I love spending time with them. They are some of my greatest friends. There names are Bryony and Hunter. The first photo is of me and Bryony and Hunter and the second is a mob of Kangaroos near their dam.

Whenever we have a holiday, my family always goes to Australia to stay with the Donald family.  I remember the last time I was there, we had an interesting walk around the fields nearby their house.

Bryony, Hunter and I were walking up the hill to see the lambs. When we got to the top we saw some kangaroos hopping around in the distance. They were big red kangaroos, hopping around in the wide-open space.  They looked so free.

We decided to keep going on, so we went up to the woods where the lambs and sheep were. When we finally got to the lambs, they were all so cute! Walking around on there little legs I love the lambs I wish I could live near animals, because I love them so much.

As we were walking further we saw a dead lamb.  It was probably attacked by a fox. It was lying there all alone. Flies were flying all over it.  It was bloody and gross – not a pretty sight.  Everybody looked away and decided it was time to go.

We went on to the shed by the dam.  It was a small metal shack.  It was rusty all over and looked like it had been there for a very long time.  The door was open so we pushed the door open and went inside. There was a fireplace, a rake and a couple photos on the wall. There was a wooden chair that looked like it would break if we sat on it.  The table was in the same shape with a few cracks on top.

“This place is so dusty!  Somebody should clean it,” I said.

“People used to sleep in here,” Bryony said.

I looked out the door looking over the dam.  The shed was near the deep end where the snakes liked to stay.  I know they don’t do this, but I’m always worried some snakes will  jump out at me.

We decided to go back to the house.  I love going to Bryony and Hunter’s house. It’s a lot more fun in the country than it is in the city!

Qingdao

Yesterday during Art my dad came to pick me up.
I was doing my land form project and he came 10 minutes early. I also had a Chinese class party.
And I had to miss both of them, I was really disappointed. So we went out to meet Mum and Mimi.
We got in a taxi and off we went.We were going to Qingdao.
At the airport it took a long time in queues, good thing I brought my knitting. When we got through all the customs
it was a very long walk to gate 93.On the way we stopped at a few shops.
One was a toy shop, another was a toy shop, and another was a ice cream shop Hagen dazz,to be
exact. So once we got on the airplane it was the shortest ride ever!
Now to get to the point. In Qingdao it was amazing! To make it even better we stayed at the Shangri laa Hotel.
At dinner we went to Cafe Yum,I had some sushi. It was delicious!
The next day we went out walking to the sea shore well it was not really the shore we were high up and the sea was
down low if you can picture it. The waves were ginormous, they were all over the place. The waves were coming over
the bars it was amazing. We went around town and my next favorite part was the leaves, it was like Autumn.
The leaves were blowing every where and Mimi and I were jumping and playing in the leaves and trees.
Since Mimi had a jumper with a hood we stuffed leaves in it and she looked really funny.
We had a great time, unfortunately the next day we had to leave but we had a great time.

Your probably wondering what is Kidzania? Well its a kid world that you get to act like an adult and eat food your parents won’t like. So my parents decided I could go there. But one small problem: NO PARENTS ALLOWED!!!!! So I went with my friend Sophia and her brother Sam. At first we went to a real air plane. I got to be a pilot. I drove the plane around. Then next I was a fire fighter, we all went on a real fire truck and we went around Kidzania looking for fires! Next I went to be a dentist. I cleaned the teeth of a fake person, but it was still pretty cool. After that I went to Dunkin Doenuts and took a quick break. Then I was off to get my drivers license. I took the test and every thing! finally I got my driver license  and next I went car racing. VROOM!!! VROOM!!! went the car, the race had begun. I took off zooming past the others “yeah!!  I won ” I cried taking my helmet off. But the fun had to end soon. I was heading back to home. But I will never forget that day!!

To be in international kid!

2010
06.11

Since I’m an international kid I go on extreme traveling and this is one of those times. I just had the most longest journey in my whole entire life. In all the hours I was in the plane it added up to 36 hours. We took four airplanes. First we took an airplane called  Lufthansa and flew to the Frankfurt airport.  That was 7 hours. Then we had to wait 4 more hours. Then we got on the plane to New York.  It was 9 hours and we stayed in the airport for one hour. Then we had to get on another plane. I was exhausted  by then but I kept on saying to myself “you can do it” and so I did.  We flew over to Atlanta. We had so little time to get on the next flight, so we were running. On the way I got injured, I accidentally ran into the escalator and hurt my knee. Our last plane was from Atlanta to Lafayette, LA. There I got to see my Grandpa Pie and my Gram and my Grandpa. I enjoyed seeing them. It was all worth it.

Survivor

I’m watching the series of Survivor. The Survivors (people who play the game) are so strong. They’re challenged to work together in amazing episodes, when they are trying to survive in wild places. I’m going to watch the final episode!!!! I can’t wait to see what will happen next! My favorite player is Parviti. She’s a girl  with super strategies about how to play the game but a little sneaky! Some people get badly injured like a broken toe, stabbed by a sea urchin, but some times they stay in the game!!!!!! That’s why I like Survior they’re so strong no matter how injured.

Christmas in Australia

2010
05.12

At Christmas it is different everywhere, here is how it is in Australia at my house.

In Australia all the family comes over to my aunts house,we play and at lunch we eat pavlova.

Did I mention it’s hot at that time so its perfect weather for cricket!

So when Santa comes he doesn’t have 8 reindeer he has 6 white boomers! (kangaroos)

You don’t give him cookies and milk, you give him lamingtons and milk.

Santa doesn’t dress in snow white boots, he dresses in shorts and a t shirt and a nice big sun hat.

That is how we celebrate Christmas and that is how Santa rolls.
